What are Connected Solutions and CT ESS?
If you live in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or Arizona, you can share power with the grid when it needs it. By using your Battery or Solar + Battery system, you can participate in this program, and the utility company will handle the rest! Through this program, you’ll earn significantly more than traditional grid sellback, while also contributing to the grid’s stability in these regions. If you’re not satisfied, you can opt out at any time. The Connected Solutions program applies to users in the service areas of National Grid, Eversource, and Cape Light Compact in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The CT ESS program is for users in the service areas of Eversource and United Illuminating in Connecticut.
MassSave Residential Rebates and Incentives
MassSave is an energy efficiency program sponsored by Massachusetts’ electric and gas utilities. It aims to help residents reduce their energy usage and costs. For residential energy storage systems, MassSave offers the following incentives:
- Energy Storage Rebates: Residential customers can receive rebates for installing energy storage systems. The rebate amount depends on the system’s capacity and whether it is integrated with a solar energy system.
- Energy Efficiency Audits: MassSave provides free energy efficiency audits to help residents identify ways to save energy by upgrading equipment and using smart technologies.
- Low-Interest Loan Programs: MassSave offers low-interest loans to help residents cover the upfront costs of energy storage systems and other energy-efficient equipment.
- Network of Certified Installers: MassSave partners with certified
Connecticut PURA Energy Storage Solutions Program
The Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) implements the Energy Storage Solutions Program to encourage residential and commercial customers to install energy storage systems, enhancing grid stability and improving energy efficiency. The program offers the following incentives:
- Upfront Incentives: PURA provides one-time upfront incentives for qualified energy storage systems, with the incentive amount depending on the system’s size and performance.
- Performance-Based Payments: In addition to the upfront incentive, customers can receive annual performance-based payments based on their storage system’s performance, such as the amount of energy discharged during peak periods.
- Technical Support: PURA offers technical support to help customers choose suitable energy storage systems and ensure the installation meets safety and efficiency standards.
- Long-Term Contracts: Customers can enter into long-term contracts to receive stable incentive payments over several years.
How Does It Work?
Step 1: Join the Program If you already have a Storage system and want to sell excess power back to the grid, contact us to get started today! It’s very simple.
Step 2: Supply Power to the Grid Once you join the program, you’ll be rewarded for helping the utility company reduce grid load and lower New England’s carbon emissions.
Step 3: Earn Revenue This works similarly to the standard grid sell mode on our inverters, but the difference is that the utility provider will choose when to draw power from your system. They’ll notify you in advance when they need power and take an agreed-upon amount, while your system continues to power your home.
